In Adventure Mode, the LARQ Bottle PureVis delivers a higher dose of UVC: >30 mJ/cm^2. Activate this 3 minute cycle by double tapping the button on the cap. It’s a good choice if you’re not sure about the quality of your water or you just want extra peace of mind.
How often does the LARQ Bottle PureVis need to be charged? How will I know when the battery is low?
One charge lasts up to 1 month and conveniently recharges via MicroUSB. This is based on estimated usage of 3-4 cycles a day. Normal Mode lasts up to 4 weeks of use and Adventure Mode lasts up to 10-12 days of use. When your battery is low, your cap will blink green before and after a cleaning cycle to alert you to charge it!
Does the LARQ Bottle PureVis remove heavy metals or fluoride?
No, since the LARQ Bottle PureVis does not contain a filter, it does not remove physical impurities from the water. The UV-C LED technology is effective in eradicating up to 99.9999% of harmful bacteria, mold and viruses in Adventure Mode–preventing the growth of odor-causing bacteria and eliminating water-born illnesses.
Can I put other beverages in there besides water?
The LARQ Bottle PureVis is designed as a self-cleaning bottle for water. We do not recommend using it for other beverages. If you do end up putting sugary drinks, tea or coffee in your bottle, hand wash it after each use with warm soapy water.

If your LARQ Bottle PureVis is charged and is not working correctly or has encountered an error, it will not enter Normal or Adventure mode and will alert you with an LED light indicator.

You will not need to replace it as UV-C LED technology does not require a filter replacement and is MicroUSB rechargable. The UV-C LED component itself is rated for >100,000 cycles (on/offs) - much more robust than existing Mercury options (typically 8,000 to 10,000 if you read the product data sheets). So depending on your use it should last a very very long time.
Is the LARQ Bottle PureVis water resistant?
Yes, the MicroUSB port is waterproof and rated IPX7.
Will the LARQ Bottle sweat?
The LARQ Bottle is a double-wall vacuum insulated design that will keep your water cold for up to 24 hours and hot for up to 12 hours, so it will not sweat or exhibit condensation on the outside of the bottle.

The LARQ Bottle Movement may sweat when filled with extremely cold water, ice, or refrigerated due to its single-wall non-insulated construction.
What type of battery is used in the LARQ Bottle PureVis?

What material is the LARQ Bottle made out of?
The LARQ Bottle is double-wall vacuum insulated made with electropolished, 18/8 food grade stainless steel (contains nickel). It is BPA and phthalates free.
Does the LARQ Bottle Movement Sleeve fit the LARQ Bottle?
No, the LARQ Bottle Movement Sleeve is designed specifically for the LARQ Bottle Movement and will not fit correctly on the LARQ Bottle.
Why doesn’t the Micro-USB charging cable fit in the cap’s charging port?
Be sure that the MicroUSB symbol on your charging cable is facing down if the top of the cap is upright. The cap will indicate that it is charging with a pulsing green light. Where is the fill line?
For the LARQ Bottle, the fill line is approximately the middle of the top portion of the LARQ Bottle (indicated as #4 in the diagram), just below where the curve begins.
How does Self-Cleaning Mode work? How can I tell?
Self-Cleaning Mode will activate every two hours from the last cleaning cycle for ten seconds (indicated by a blue breathing light). It is a very quick cycle, so it is easy to miss!

Also check if your LARQ Bottle PureVis is in Travel Mode, which will lock the LARQ Bottle PureVis so that the Self-Cleaning Mode is turned off. To turn Travel Mode off and turn on Self-Cleaning Mode, press and hold the cap for 5- 10 seconds until a white light turns on and flashes.
Can I put ice in my LARQ Bottle PureVis?
Ice is completely fine to use with the LARQ bottle PureVis, and will not damage the bottle itself in any way. However, it may impact the efficiency of the UV-C LED since LARQ uses a line of sight technology and the ice may prohibit the UV-C LED from reaching certain areas of the bottle when solid.
Can I use alkaline water in my LARQ Bottle PureVis?
Yes, you can put alkaline water in the LARQ Bottle PureVis and it should not impact the efficacy of the UV-C LED technology, nor will it impact the mineral or acid levels in alkaline water.

Can I put hot water in the LARQ Bottle Movement PureVis?
The LARQ Bottle Movement PureVis has a single-wall non-insulated construction. Although the cap can handle most temperatures, the bottle itself may get hot if handled with hotter liquids. We recommend using the LARQ Bottle Movement PureVis with cold to warm water only. If you prefer to drink hot water, try the LARQ Bottle PureVis–our double-wall vacuum insulated model that will keep liquids cold for up to 24 hours and hot for up to 12 hours!
How is the LARQ Bottle Movement PureVis different from the LARQ Bottle PureVis?
Both LARQ Bottle PureVis and LARQ Bottle Movement PureVis collections use the same cap and proprietary UV-C LED technology. The difference between them is in the design, water capacity, weight, and construction of the bottles.

What happens to the germs and bacteria in the water or bottle? Is it filtered out?
The LARQ Bottle PureVis is a water purification system. UV-C light is blasted at 280 nanometers inside the bottle when your cap is activated to break down bacteria and viruses at the DNA level, rendering them inactive and preventing potential growth, making your water safe for consumption. How does the LARQ Bottle PureVis work?
The LARQ Bottle PureVis uses patented UV-C technology to purify your water and bottle at the touch of a button. The bottle intelligently turns on every 2 hours to purify both the water you put inside as well as the inside of the bottle. The UV-C light eradicates biological contaminants by destroying their DNA.
What is UV-C LED technology?
The UV-C wavelength emitted from the UV-C LED located in the LARQ Bottle PureVis Caps are optimized at the 280 nanometer spectrum to eliminate up to 99.9999% of bacteria and viruses by breaking down their DNA before they have a chance to spread, making the water pure and safe to drink. At the minimum, the LARQ Bottle PureVis should be filled with water that is clear to the eyes and does not contain any physical sediment as the UV-C LED will not remove these impurities from the water. The UV-C LED chip in the LARQ Bottle PureVis are smaller, more energy efficient, non-toxic (mercury-free), and more economical compared to traditional Mercury-based UV technology.
Is the LARQ Bottle PureVis safe to use?
Yes, the LARQ Bottle PureVis is safe. UV-C LED light does not remain in the water and therefore is perfectly safe for consumption.
The LARQ Bottle PureVis does have a Safety Mode, which is indicated by a flashing orange light that prevents accidental activation when the cap is not on the bottle by dimming the UV-C LED light. One should never place the activated UV-C LED in direct contact with the skin or eyes.

The Uses

Is the LARQ Bottle PureVis refrigerator/microwave/dishwasher safe?
The LARQ Bottle PureVis may be refrigerated but bear in mind the double-wall vacuum insulated feature of this bottle will not allow contents inside to be affected by external temperatures.

The LARQ Bottle Movement PureVis may be refrigerated to keep the contents cold due to its single-wall stainless steel construction.

Do not put any of our LARQ Bottles in the freezer, microwave, or dishwasher.
Can I fly with my LARQ Bottle?
Yes, it will have no problem coming along with you on flights as long as you empty out all the liquids from the bottle. The LARQ Bottle PureVis and LARQ Bottle Movement PureVis should be kept on your person or in your carry-on. It may not be transported in a checked bag due to the Li-polymer battery in the cap.
Can I clean the LARQ Bottle PureVis/LARQ Bottle Movement PureVis?
The LARQ Bottle PureVis and LARQ Bottle Movement PureVis are 10,000 times more hygienic than a normal reusable bottle. You almost never have to clean the bottle if it is used for water. You may need to clean the bottle when you use it for liquids other than water. We recommend gentle hand washing with soap and warm water and wiping the mouth area from time to time.

Can I use the LARQ Bottle PureVis/LARQ Bottle Movement PureVis in the backcountry or while traveling?
Yes! Our UV-C LED technology will eliminate 99.9999% of germs, bacteria, and viruses in Adventure Mode. It will not remove heavy metals or chemicals in the water. It will depend on the region that you are in as to which contaminants exist in the water, so it may be advised to take additional precautionary methods with any LARQ Bottle PureVis depending on the water source to ensure the safety of the water.
Can I put fruits in the LARQ Bottle PureVis? What will happen?
Fruit is fine to use with the LARQ Bottle PureVis, and will not damage the bottle itself in any way nor will the UV-C LED technology affect the fruit. However, it may impact the efficiency of the UV-C LED since LARQ uses a line-of-sight technology and the fruit may prohibit the UV-C LED from reaching certain areas of the bottle. We would recommend washing the LARQ Bottle PureVis with warm soap and water if used with fruit.
How clean must the water be?
At a minimum, it should be clear to the eye with no heavy sediment.

Where can I order personalized LARQ Bottles?
Currently, personalization is only available in the United States, but we are working hard to expand this feature to other countries soon.

What are the character limitations for a personalized order?
You can add up to 10 characters to personalized LARQ Bottles. All personalization will be engraved in uppercase letters and numbers only.
Can I return or exchange a personalized order?
No, personalized bottles cannot be exchanged or returns. All personalized products are final sale.
Can I change the personalized text on an order I just placed?
Unfortunately, we are unable to accomodate any changes to personalized orders after they've been placed. Please double-check your personalization preferences before placing your order.
How long will it take to receive a personalized order?

Product Care

Do I ever need to wash my LARQ Bottle PureVis?
Tip #1 Wiping the mouth area
Give your bottle and the cap a warm soapy rinse once in a while to get rid of any build-up around the mouth area (primarily from lip balms, lipstick, oils, and food residue).
Tip #2 Proper rinses
Yes, your LARQ Bottle PureVis is self-cleaning so it doesn’t require daily cleanings which are recommended for ordinary water bottles. As long as you’re using your LARQ Bottle PureVis for water, you don’t have to give your LARQ Bottle PureVis and Cap (don’t worry–it’s waterproof!) a proper washing for at least 3-4 weeks. Just hand wash with warm soapy water every so often.
Tip #3 Cleaning after use with beverages other than water
We don’t recommend using the LARQ Bottle PureVis for coffee, tea, milk, and sugary drinks, which are known to stain, and can reduce the efficacy of the PureVis™ UV-C LED technology by preventing the light from bouncing off the electropolished walls of the bottle. If you do choose to use coffee, tea, or sugary drinks with your LARQ Bottle PureVis, use a bottle brush to scrub with warm soapy water to remove staining promptly after each use. This will ensure that your bottle is working at optimum efficiency to keep your bottle and water fresh.

Note: Always charge your LARQ Cap before washing or wait until completely dry before charging to avoid damage or injury.
Can I wash the cap?
The cap is waterproof IPX7-rated, so you are able to hand wash the cap if needed. Please ensure that the cap is completely dry before charging to avoid the risk of injury.
How do I wash the Travel Sleeve?
Spot clean or wipe with a damp cloth. Do not machine wash or soak in water as that may damage the handle!
How do I clean the LARQ Bottle Movement Sleeve?
Spot clean or wipe with a damp cloth. You may also put the LARQ Bottle Movement sleeve in the dishwasher* after removing it from your bottle.

Do not leave the sleeve in direct sunlight for an extended period of time as this may cause colors to fade. Do not machine wash.

*Please note: Do not put your LARQ Bottle in the dishwasher.

Does the LARQ Bottle have a warranty?
LARQ offers a 1-year limited warranty on all bottles purchased from www.livelarq.com and authorized retailers. The warranty covers the repair or replacement of any defective material or component. In the rare case that we are unable to repair or replace the defective material or component, we will submit a refund. It does not cover any issues due to normal wear and tear, misuse or loss/theft of the bottle.

For deliveries in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom or the European Union, orders will take between 5-7 business days to arrive.

Where is the serial number of my LARQ Bottle located?
The serial number is located by the QR code on the stickers on the bottom of the bottle and the box. It is an alpha-numeric sequence starting with BD, BS or BC and ending in a number. (Ex. BDMB050A00001311). Log in or create an account to register your LARQ Bottle, LARQ Bottle Movement or LARQ PureVis Cap with the corresponding serial numbers.
Is there a Holiday Return Policy?
We are pleased to be offering an extended return window to give you peace of mind when shopping for your loved ones! Holiday orders purchased between Nov 1 - December 31, 2020 can be returned unused and in their original packaging until February 1, 2021.
